I was going to write, "Happy Veterans Day" but I'm not sure that's the right way to think about it. Is it? Perhaps it should be more of a directive, like "Commemorate Veterans Day."
My generation of my family is really the first since World War II to not serve in the military. My grandfathers were colonels in the Marines and the Army. My father served in the Army and my uncles served in the Navy. And those are just a few examples.
Because they and others served, you and I can sit here today and do what we do.
Here is a commemoration of our veterans.
